The Magic Tree in the Yard

Make Space

Several years ago, I was weeding, getting rid of invasive plants to making space for what I wanted to grow. I stood in the corner of our front yard pointing to the ground and told my husband, “I want a red bud tree right here.”

4 seasons of beauty

Now, It is a magically gorgeous tree. Its heart shaped leaves flutter in the breeze in summer, the limbs are sheathed with prolific tiny purple buds every spring, followed by a showy ruby toned fall finale before taking on winter’s stark profile against the gray Indiana sky.

What MAGIC?

Thing is, I never actually planted that tree at all. To my amazement, it emerged from the ground on its own, only days after my pronouncement. Not kidding.

A little help here...

As it grew, we helped it along, staking it up, and eventually pruning it to create a leader branch so that it could grow a beautiful umbrella of foliage.

Manifest?

Magical free landscaping. Did I “manifest” the tree? Maybe, although red buds are pretty prolific at seeding themselves. It doesn’t’ matter how it got there.

All Gift

All I know is, I made the space for this colorful home for birds and bees to spring up, with a wish. We nurtured it as it grew and it makes me smile every time I see it. A gift from nature. Exactly what I wanted, beauty nurtured into being.

I hold space

This is what I do: I hold space for my students and clients to grow and bloom through all the seasons of their lives. I help weed out what needs to go, from tension in the body to unhelpful thoughts in the mind and then nurture the beauty of ease and growth for the whole person, moving them in the direction of their dreams.
